Pakistan-New Zealand ODI series: After the T20 series the ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand will begin on March 29. However even before the series starts New Zealand has suffered a major setback. The teams captain Tom Latham has been ruled out of the ODI series due to a hand injury.
Henry Nicholls gets a chance Bracewell to lead
Henry Nicholls has been included in the ODI squad in place of Latham. Meanwhile Michael Bracewell will take over the captaincy for the ODI series. Bracewell also led the team in the T20 series against Pakistan.
Latham suffers a fracture out for four weeks
During a net session in training the ball hit Lathams hand resulting in a fracture confirmed by an X-ray. He will now have to rest for at least four weeks. Coach Gary Stead said that in Lathams absence Henry Nicholls has been given an opportunity.

Will Young to miss two matches
New Zealand opener Will Young will be unavailable for the second and third ODI matches as he awaits the birth of his first child. In his place 23-year-old Rice Mariu has been included in the team for the first time.
Coach praises new players
New Zealand coach Gary Stead said that the absence of several players will give new players a chance to prove themselves. He welcomed Henry Nicholls and Rice Mariu to the team and said that it would be a good experience for them. He also wished Tom Latham a speedy recovery.
