Nasir Hussain: Bangladesh all-rounder Nasir Hussain has returned to the cricket field after a two-year ban. Now he played for Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club in the Dhaka Premier Division League match. Rupganj Tigers were up against the team of Gazi Group Cricketers. The Bangladesh Cricket Board has stated in a press release that the way has been opened for him to play official cricket from 7 April 2025.
Ban imposed due to iPhone 12
Nasir Hussain was banned for two years by the Emirates Cricket Board for violating the Anti-Corruption Code during the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2020-21. Nasir was associated with the Pune Devils franchise. He was charged by the ICC in September 2023. The first charge against him was that he failed to provide the receipt of a gift to the Anti-Corruption Officer, which cost him more than US$750. He received an iPhone 12 as a gift.
Nasir Hussain accepted the charges
The second charge against Nasir Hussain was that he failed to give complete information to the entry corruption officer about who he got the iPhone 12 from or he could not give any information in corruption. He did not cooperate in the investigation. He has accepted all the charges.
Played all three formats for the Bangladesh team
Nasir Hussain has played cricket in all three formats for Bangladesh. He scored 1044 runs in 19 Test matches and a total of 1281 runs in 65 ODIs for the Bangladesh team. Apart from this, he scored 370 runs in 31 T20 International cricket. He has a total of two centuries to his name in all three formats. He was last seen playing for the Bangladesh national team in the year 2018.
