Australian men’s contracted player list 2025-26: Big news has come out from Australian cricket that Cricket Australia has announced the central contract for the 2025-26 season. 23 players have been given place in this list which includes stars like Pat Cummins Josh Hazlewood Travis Head Marnus Labuschagne Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc. This time Karnaman Sam Constas and Beau Webster have got the central contract for the first time.
Karnamans return and new faces
The last few months have been full of ups and downs for Australias left-arm spinner Matthew Karnaman. Although he took the most wickets in the Warne-Muralidaran Trophy with 16 wickets his bowling action became suspicious. He later got a clean chit from the ICC. Apart from Karnaman Sam Constas and Beau Webster made significant contributions against the Indian team during their Test debut.

New contract hopes
Beau Webster and Sam Constas recently made their Test debuts during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and helped Australia win the prestigious trophy against India after nearly a decade. Apart from this Matt Short and Mitchell Marsh have also been given central contracts although the performance of both the players has not been very good in the last one year.
Players missing from this list
However some players are missing in this central contract list such as Cooper Conley Sean Abbott Aaron Hardy and spinner Todd Murphy. Abbott and Hardy were part of the 2025 Champions Trophy team but both did not get a chance to play a single match. At the same time Murphy played a Test match as the third spinner on the Sri Lanka tour.
Upcoming important tournaments
Australia will have to face many important tournaments and series in the 2025-26 season. Australias home international schedule has been announced recently in which 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches will be played against South Africa in August. After this the Indian team will tour Australia and next year the T20 World Cup will be jointly organized in India and Sri Lanka.
